First Annual Poland Shale Gas Awards – Celebrating Poland’s importance in the Shale Gas Sector and those developing it

The first annual Poland “Shale Gas Awards” gala and awards ceremony took place in Warsaw, Poland on January 19, 2012 at the Intercontinental Hotel. More than 100 shale gas executives were in attendance during the award ceremonies and dinner gala, while during the day as many as 60 executives met over the round table lunch and discussed various issues relating to the industry, including: Polish legal, tax, and environmental aspects (Discussion leader: Mirosław Barszcz, Grynhoff, Wożny, i Wspólnicy); indirect and direct investment in shale gas companies entering and or expanding in Poland (Discussion leaders: Donal Bailey and Daniel Delpercio, Forrest Equity Management); issues covering data processing, HR, and permitting (Discussion leaders: Łukasz Olejniczak, Katarzyna Kajka, and Kuba Złamaniec, New Gas Contracting); issues relating to government relations and community engagement (Discussion leader: Marek Matraszek, CEC Government Relations); state of activities of US companies in the shale gas industry in Poland, US best management practices, US health & safety standards (Discussion leader Dorota Dabrowski from the American Chamber of Commerce AMCHAM)

1. International Pioneer: Global Geophysical Services

For making remarkable achievements in advancing the shale gas industry in Poland. The award was accepted by Dan White, Country Director.

2. Community Engagement: New Gas Contracting

For their critical and valuable role in the shale gas production value chain in Poland, whose work embodies the vision and value in a community context. The Award was accepted by Anna Domain, Business Development Director at New Gas Contracting.

3. Rising Star: Mirosław Barszcz (Grynhoff, Wożny, i Wspólnicy)

For his most recent achievements and culmination of achievements up to date. Recognized for making a significant and long-lasting contribution to the Poland shale gas sector over a period of time . The Award was accepted by Mirosław Barszcz, of Counsel at the Law Firm, Grynhoff, Wożny, i Wspólnicy.

4. Shale Gas Company of The Year: PGNiG

For their contributions in the shale gas industry over the course of a year rather than or in addition to single contributions, making a significant impact on energy. The award was accepted by Zbigniew Zabkiewicz, Exploitation and Mining Director, PGNiG.

5. Professional of the Year: Kamlesh Parmar, 3 Legs Resources (Lane Energy)

For his contributions in the Shale Gas industry in Poland over the course of a year rather than or in addition to single contributions, making a significant impact on energy. The award was accepted by Agnieszka Honkisz from Lane Energy.

“I am very privileged to have received the award, I do think its an award for not just me personally, but my whole team and my whole company, we have achieved a lot during the last 2-3 years in Poland, and I guess this is a recognition of that”, stated Kamlesh Parmar, Country Manager of Lane Energy via a video conference during the ceremony.

The Annual Polish Shale Gas Awards is organised by Petroleum Club Magazine, the leading English language printed monthly energy industry magazine covering the news in Central & Eastern Europe as well as Russia CIS regions.
